Over the last few months, I have to admit, the blog has taken a bit of a back burner. I have a European Beer Bloggers blog (the irony) to finish writing ('Graft Brewing'), a trip to Huddersfield to share (HDM v The Grove), a load of Your Locals and more to post. HOWEVER I'm now focusing on organsing this beer festival as one of the Sheff Brew Fest members. So [finger taps] this may be the last update till after October! A is for the Archaeology of beer, think particles of space dust falling to earth and fermenting that mushy bread you left out in the early days of yore brought to you by Declan Moore . A is for the apricots added to the sublime Cascade Apricot Ale shared by Beer Daddy. A is for Andrew Savage brewer at Guinness who shared honest insights - 200 road tankers a week taking Guinness out to be packaged in cans and bottles. A is for Artisan Brewers Society – I like the fact they haven't used the 'c' word. A is for Aer Lingus who managed to fly me back to Manchester after I drank lots of Pilsner Urquell unfiltered goodness and discovered the merits of using Wordpress (check the radio station I embedded for you to listen to whilst reading this). Every month you can read my beery column in South Yorkshire mag Exposed in both print and online. The column's called Beer Revere and you can check out the blog HERE. You can also page through back copies of Exposed  digitally - as often the printed magazines go pretty quick (especially if there's an Arctic Monkey's exclusive interview). The menu offers gluten free options and a wide selection of local beer.” The Local:   This eclectic Division Street late night music junkie boozer offers 6 hand pulled ales and 12 draught taps including many a continental and American craft beer from Anchor and Brooklyn breweries.  The hand pulls rotate offering beer from the likes of Saltaire, Marble, Abbeydale, Kelham Island, Magic Rock and new local start up Stancill (their Barnsley Bitter is a local award winner). House ales can be purchased for £2.50 a pint Monday through to Friday 5-9pm making this a destination not only for beer choice but for price too. It's all happening this week, I know I bang on about Sheffield and the beery good things that go on here, but can you blame me really for feeling a little pleased about it.  This week the Society of Independent Brewer's launch their annual get together and throw a 300+ beer festival each night. From Wednesday through to Saturday night - you can head up to IceSheffield , check out the beer list for what's  in store. I hear some rumblings a foot for good quality food offerings from street food vendors like Fish& and Diamond Dogs in the mix too.  On Thursday - Magic Rock's head brewer Stuart wrestles Brewdog's newest bar to the ground and takes over the taps (ooooh la la monsieur). There’s something about a celebration that brings everyone together, no need for paper hats, party poppers or any other revelry item when you’ve got a beer; that’s all you need. It seems to be the month of celebrations, from The Tapped Brew Co having a big knees up to mark their centennial brew to Exposed magazine’s 10th birthday, rejoicing in style with a collaborative brew alongside Thornbridge Brewery .  Sheff tap-o-rama The Tapped Brew Co was a double whammy affair – their 100th brew and first birthday rolled into one. They’ve brewed over twenty different beer styles since launching at the Sheffield Tap from wheat beer to pale ales and stouts; their 100 th  brew was an American pale ale with lots of Centennial hops.
