Tramlines Pub Crawl

Sheffield's love of music goes on through the whole year. Pretty much every night of the week you could watch bands in local pubs. Every year Tramlines brings this thriving scene together to celebrate and with Sheffielders hitting the Radio 1 playlists regularly; such as the loveable rogue Toddla T, the event's causing quite a draw for further afield daytrippers.

So with no further delay if you are visiting Sheffield for this massive music knees up and are unsure where to go, I've put together a quick reference guide (with a beer focus ofcourse!):

The Sheffield Tap: Oustanding Edwardian converted pub at the train station 20 taps of cask handpulls and craft European and US beer taps. Multiple fridges of craft beer & cider. Great way to start and end the festival if you're arriving by train. I always put this as a must visit for any beer lover.

Sheaf Street · Sheffield, S1 2BP, 0114 273 7558

The Rutland Arms: Camra pub of month numerous times & with an award winning cider offering. Always interesting selection of ales with a dedicated handpull offering - last visit I tried a Moor and Arbor collaboration which was a thick roasted dark beer. It was one of the only pub I found the Record Store beer from Revolutions brew in, so it just shows you how up on their beer game this establishment is.

The Gatsby: As you walk up Division Street the music will begin to increase and the Gatsby is a perfect stop off half way up. This bar has 2 dedicated handpulls, no doubt one will have the Tramlines beer brewed especially for the event by Abbeydale. There's a dedicated live music upstairs venue which will have a THE up-and-coming bands playing. This bar takes their music programme selection as seriously as their beverages. Nuff said.

The Old House: Part of the Forum group this bar is a bit of a craft beer bottle gem (and if you fancy a break - their gin selection is huge think +30). Decent draft selection too. Your now in the Devonshire Quarter - LINK for bands

The Hop: An Ossett Brewery tap - so huge selection of their own brews plus local beers and decent bottle selection. Dedicated music programme - often blues and rock focus. Camra member recieve 10% discount on showing membership (however think this is only Mon-Thurs).

The Red Deer: Warm friendly welcoming atmosphere and they've put a folk & cider festival on for Tramlines weekend. Good food menu and 8+ handpulls.
